Construction has begun at the corner of Rose Abbey and Highway 15 for Kingston
East’s newest shopping complex, The Greenwood Park Centre. Taggart Realty
Management is building the 50,000 square feet of retail space and plans to have stores
opening in the summer of 2013.
Jeff Parkes from Taggart Realty Management said “We’re hoping to see a medical
clinic, grocery store, LCBO, hair salon, a fast food establishment, a bank, fitness
centre, a pet food store, and a pharmacy.” He went on to say, “We’re currently in talks
with Pharma Plus and Shoppers Drug Mart, as well as other potential occupants for
the centre. Many of the companies are based in Toronto, so we have to show them
that the market is ready for the new additions.”

This is great news and will hopefully reduce some of the strain on the LaSalle Causeway as Pittsburgh District residents will not need to venture over the bridge as many times during the day. These services should do very well and will help to grow our end of town.
Very welcome news.

This is great news. However, I hope the council does not use this addition to the Pittsburg District as an excuse NOT to continue with the third crossing bridge.
