Life Yoga Flying High With Aerial Yoga

30 June 2011 No Comment

Carly Stong, owner of Life Yoga, and Erin Ball, certified yoga and acro-yoga instructor, demonstrated the art and practice of aerial yoga, this past Saturday.

Securely suspended only inches off of the ground in a yoga hammock, aerial yoga modifies traditional yoga postures, turns you upside down and challenges traditionally easy yoga postures. It also helps develop strength that enables you to master the more challenging traditional yoga postures with ease.

Other benefits of aerial yoga include superior release of tension on bones and muscles and added flexibility. As well, aerial yoga strengthens core muscles, arms and shoulders in a way that is uncommon with traditional yoga mat practices.

Aerial yoga is a blend of strength, flexibility, relaxation, decompression, fun and movement both suspended in the air and on the ground. Anyone can do it – no yoga or aerial experience is required.

Life Yoga, Kingston East’s only yoga studio, is the only provider of aerial yoga in Kingston. It’s teacher, Erin Ball, has studied at the Toronto school of Circus Arts, the New England Center for Circus Arts, the Greentop Circus in Sheffield, England and Cirque-Ability in Toronto. It’s safe to say that Erin is comfortable with and well qualified to guide you in your aerial yoga practice. To learn more visit Life Yoga’s website: www.lifeyogakingston.com.
